Like other upgrade components jewels can be put into an item with a matching socket to enhance the. For example Garnet Pebble (gemstone) and an Adorned Garnet Jewel (jewel) both add strength, but the Garnet Pebble is only able to increase the number of hits that are regular, while the Garnet Jewel also boosts the player's strength. Jewels can be put in all armor, weapon and accessory slots. They can also be used with exotic trinkets or lesser rarity trinkets that need the use of a slot.
Like other DM mechanics, gems help to ensure that items feel special to their owners. Requirements
